Paces, Paces, Paces
Have you any idea what a complete nightmare it is trying to find music to suit your horse? All I can say is thank god for iTunes! I have spent HOURS with a video of Jad playing bits of music against it to see if it fits his paces. Not only that, it has to suit the horse. Jad is Thoroughbred x Hannoverian which means he is tall and fairly lightly built with nice steady paces. A lot of classical stuff fits his paces but not his build. Pop is too quick for his paces and doesn’t suit his demeanour. Piano music tends to suit but I got completely bored listening to it. I am NOT using Queen or Abba. Every music competition has people using Queen and Abba. However, I finally found something exactly right. Glenn Miller. OK, it wouldn’t ordinarily be my cup of tea but everyone knows it, it suits both his build and his paces and more importantly it is completely instrumental.
I’m going to have to play it to Jad in the stable though, the intro crashes in a bit so it might blow his mind a bit if he hears it for the first time in competition :-)
